Current build

Six maps. Six planning surfaces.

Thanh Hóa Bridge is associated with the Dragon’s Jaw and Nam Ma River context, with jungle, mountain terrain, villages and trainyards around a bridge and river crossing. Huế Outskirts brings Tet Offensive context into mountains, terraced farms, jungle, industrial bases and waterways. Vạn Tường references Operation Starlite and combines semi-urban and jungle terrain with a river network where boats matter. Those first three maps already ask a squad to distinguish a bridge approach, a mixed surface and a water route.

Quảng Ngãi references Operation Piranha and combines monsoon flooding, rocky cliffs, caves, bamboo and open lowlands. Đắk Tô Airfield uses the November 1967 context, long runway sightlines, armour, reconnaissance and open ground. Cam Ranh Port is a 1969 logistics facility with docks, dunes and waterways, where boat skirmishes and port logistics shape the approach. The records are short by design, but each field is a callout a player can use before the first contact.

Field note

Turn terrain into a callout

A map name tells the squad where it is; a terrain word tells the squad what it can do. Runway means long exposure and a sightline that needs a covered edge. River means a crossing, a boat lane or a swimming decision. Cave means a depth change and a possible hidden route. Dock means constrained movement and a logistics surface. Jungle, terrace, trainyard, cliff and village each imply a different relationship between observation and movement. Use two words together when the route needs to be precise: river crossing, runway edge, cave approach or dock lane.

The map filter is built for that habit. Enter runway and the list narrows to Đắk Tô Airfield, one record out of six. Clear the query to restore the full roster. Search is useful when the player already knows the tactical feature but not the map name; the unfiltered table is useful when a commander is planning across the whole launch set.

Field note

Choose the next brief

Open Thanh Hóa Bridge when the question is a bridge or river crossing. Open Đắk Tô Airfield when the question is a runway, armour lane or open sightline. Use Systems for the helicopter, tunnel, riverine and movement mechanics that give a terrain surface its response. Use Vehicles for the helicopter and patrol-boat records, and Modes for the Warfare and Offensive objective structures that decide how the route is scored.

A good first map read ends with one route and one fallback. The route names the terrain you want to use; the fallback names the cover or surface you can reach if contact changes the plan. That small habit keeps a map record attached to play. It also gives Recon, Armour, Mortar Squad and Infantry a common piece of ground to describe when their roles meet.
